Vaginismus is the problem of not being able to have sexual intercourse as a result of contractions in the muscles surrounding the vagina. While everything is going well during intercourse, when the moment of intercourse comes, the muscles surrounding the vagina contract involuntarily. What causes vaginismus?<\/span><\/h1>

The most common psychological cause of vaginismus in our society is the fear of the first night and the lack of correct information about this issue. Apart from this, falsehoods about sexuality, namely sexual myths, may cause vaginismus to emerge. As an example of sexual myths: It is actually false information that there will be pain, bleeding and tearing in the first night. It is also one of the most common misconceptions that the penis may accidentally enter the urethra or anus during intercourse.<\/p>\n

Vaginismus can develop secondary to physical problems over time. Often, the structural differences of the congenital hymen do not allow the relationship. Over time, vaginal contractions occur with physical exertion. Does vaginismus go away on its own?<\/span><\/h4>
Vaginismus does not resolve spontaneously. In fact, unsuccessful relationship attempts over time lead to a lack of self-confidence in women. Sexual reluctance may occur as a result. It can cause premature ejaculation and stiffness problems in male spouses due to incomplete relationships. Along with all this, inter-couple conflicts and marital problems begin to emerge.<\/span><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Patients who cannot have sexual intercourse should first consult a physician experienced in sexual therapy. It is never a situation that they can resolve over time. Vaginismus treatment<\/span><\/h1>

Vaginismus is a disease that can be treated in a short time using current treatment methods. The definitive treatment is cognitive-behavioral sexual therapy. Some other auxiliary methods (eg, Acupuncture, Hypnotherapy) can be added to this treatment. Cognitive therapy is the correction of incorrect and incomplete sexual information. In behavioral therapy, it is aimed to manage fears about the relationship by using a number of exercises. Sex therapy should be individualized according to the condition and degree of the person. With this treatment method, results are usually obtained in 3-5 days.
